Are you living an unexpressed life?

Do you have a feeling of not being listened to at home and work?

Do you feel weak and ineffective during confrontational conversations?

Are you terrified of public speaking or singing?

Do you have a hard time expressing your personal boundaries?

Do you feel frustration and shame because you don't think you have the courage to share your authentic voice?

Don’t you just want to be able to speak your mind or share your voice without questioning yourself?

I've wanted that too for most of my life. Like many of us, I grew up in a dysfunctional family dynamic and this unsafe environment created a great fear in me of speaking my mind. This fear stopped me from sticking up for myself in episodes of sexual harassment at work, kept me in bad relationships way too long, and I still feel it in the pit of my stomach during confrontational conversations.

Primal+Voice+Therapy

Remember a time when you had to speak in front of the class as a kid, or in a meeting at work?

Or when you had to establish personal boundaries in a relationship?

Can you take yourself back to an experience where your voice was shut down, either in a family situation or as an adult in business situation?

Can’t you feel your voice almost close up just thinking about this?

Developing my relationship with my own voice through performing, teaching and sound healing gave me opportunities to peel away the layers of protection that I had surrounded myself with. Over time, I built up the courage to share my voice and learn to speak out in spite of the fear. This helped me develop a sense of empowerment and self-esteem that transformed me from a shy, fearful child to a performer, speaker, author and sound healer.

Ruth...you have been through so much and have used your experiences to help others! I love your videos and this one was especially helpful with how to release my voice which I have always felt was stuck and not natural sounding. I can relate to so much of what you have felt with your voice most of your life.

  • In your relationships: You find yourself holding back, not speaking up, and it's causing tension. You're left feeling unsupported, and it's taking a toll on both you and the people you care about.

  • In your business: Maybe you're avoiding making those videos or going after speaking or singing gigs because you're just not feeling confident enough. It's frustrating because you know you're capable, but something's holding you back.

  • In your job: You might feel like your voice isn't being valued, or maybe you're staying silent when you really want to speak up. It’s a tough spot to be in, and it’s affecting how you’re seen and how you see yourself.

  • The impact: When you hold back your voice, it doesn’t just change how others see you—it affects how you see yourself. It drains your energy, dulls your joy, and leaves you feeling less vibrant and alive.

You can change the dynamic in your relationships with your family, friends and associates -

and most importantly with YOURSELF.

Primal Voice is a unique session that combines sound therapy and somatic voice work to help clients reconnect with their authentic voice and inner power. Through this transformative practice, participants are gently guided through somatic exercises and organic sounding to awaken the body-voice connection, reduce stress, and promote deep relaxation. The sessions provide a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore the healing potential of their voice, start to cultivate self-expression and mind-body-voice alignment. This therapy is ideal for those seeking personal growth and a deeper connection to their true voice.

The real magic of your voice can open up your heart to your true nature!

The real magic of your voice can open up your heart to your true nature!

Retaining emotional memory can lead to the formation of somatic "storage" points in the body. I use the foundation of sound therapy combined with intuitive voice work and somatic movement to help clear these stagnant or tense regions. When we work with primal or organic sound, rather than words, we allow the intelligence of your body to make the sounds that it needs to come into balance. Because of its significant relationship to the vagus nerve, the voice acts like a tuner to facilitate a harmonic state of resonance or homeostasis by sending a signal of safety and calm which impacts heart rate, breathing rate and digestion.

What People Are Saying

“My virtual session with Ruth Ratliff was truly amazing! I experienced strong vibrational waves reverberating in my body - literally a deep vibration occurred in the center of my back behind my heart. The sounds Ruth created and shared, plus the toning sounds she guided me to make with my own voice, definitely brought to the surface of my awareness emotional memories that I repressed deep in my body since I was a young girl. As a coach and trainer, I understand how our brain and subconscious work. This experience with Ruth, however, brought all of my knowledge into the first-hand experience. Since this experience with Ruth, I have been working with heightened awareness and releasing limiting beliefs and shame that have unknowingly held me back. This has helped me release my voice on a new level..”

— Candace Mae Gruber, CEO and Leadership Consultant

“Ruth, it was a true honor to work with you yesterday. You are gifted in seeing through and identifying blockages in people and helping them transition into a more receptive state. The sound therapy portion felt like a sifting process. During this it felt like wind was moving around in my chest and I experienced a clearing in my throat as well as flashes of colorful light behind my eyes. In the second portion of our session, I enjoyed the statements and the techniques that released several physical issues that I have been struggling with. Your suggestions about what to do to continue the clearing process were very helpful. Thank you for your gift of healing through sound and music.”

— Keren Kilgore, Director

“When in the environment and state created by your facilitation…I was able to address unresolved thoughts and feelings from my past, present, and future which I had been addressing but were lacking in some regards. I felt as though I was living parts of my life story in vivo with complete ease. I was able to be my own witness from which I was able, effortlessly, to accomplish some personal ‘work’ or processing that I just hadn’t been able to harness before being guided in my session with you. I have been able to be highly creative and innovative, almost industrious in my work. Most outstanding is my ability to connect again with the feeling that engulfed me and the coupling I find in solitude, especially with some deeply important people and times in my life..”

— Paula Anderson-Findley, MBA, SPHR

“Primal Voice called to me immediately (so to speak!). Ruth guided me in using my voice in different ways, which helped release my vocal cords. The second part felt like a meditative journey and I experienced images and messages coming through. Ruth is a gifted sound healer and musician with an angelic, calming presence. I highly recommend teaming with her to heal anything that feels "stuck" in your life.”

— Teresa D’Angelo, Educator

“Reflecting on the past, being afraid to sing, because it felt like there were broken cords of disharmony that rang through my voice. Through a series of exercises, Ruth Ratliff helped me connect to the source of my vocal wounds. That door flung wide open to when I was a fearful little first grader. Working with Ruth, I felt safe and that made it so much easier to obtain remarkable result. My session with Ruth was an incredibly effective and enjoyable experience.”

— Debee Boulanger, Director

“I recently did a long distance session with Ruth, I enjoyed the sound healing session prior to commencement, took me out of my head into a safe space within easily. From this place is was easy to uncover a blockage and do the work to release. I love the idea of using sound as a vibrational adjuster, beautiful work - thank you.”
