Can Your Voice Heal You?
I'm always surprised when I ask if people have heard of sound healing, and they say no.
The use of the sound as a healing medium goes back thousands of years - it is an ancient art that is having a resurgence in this paradigm - a new/old technology. The field of music therapy is a form of sound healing. Using sound as a therapy has been found to help with anxiety, insomnia, depression, pain management at hospice and to ease the end of life transition. Sound healing can employ the use of the vocal chanting or mantras, as well as crystal or metal singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs and chimes, among other sonic instruments. Why does this work?
What Does the Research Show?
Research has shown that your voice emits a small amount of infrared light as the molecules of air vibrate and our cells also sing in the infrared spectrum. So when we speak, chant, tone or sing we are singing the language of the cells. Cells also have hair-like antenna call cilia that respond to certain frequencies and take them in as nourishment. Also, since our voices vibrate at a much higher frequency than our bodies, and we are about 72% water, every time you sound you are literally bathing your body in higher vibrations in the form of those beautiful sound mandalas we saw before.
Also, sound travels 5X faster in water than air. Lynnclaire Dennis quote “We are borne of water, the medium that defines the flow of time and allows us to grow. It’s the elixir that defines every cell.” In another research project, Dr. Marsaru Emoto studied the scientific evidence of how the molecular structure in water transforms when it is exposed to human words, thoughts, and intentions. If thoughts can do that to water, imagine what our words and thoughts do to us.
Some years back, my husband and I went to an open house for a very unusual business called the Davis Center for Sound, where I heard about a new modality called Human Bioacoustics, which is based on the premise that the voice can act as a holographic representation of health and wellness. BioAcoustics research has discovered that voice analysis may be used to detect a variety of wellness issues. I found a practitioner through The Institute of BioAcoustic Biology & Sound Health. Basically you speak into a microphone connected to a computer program that analyzes your voice in a voiceprint that looks like a graph with highs and lows, which represent frequency based biomarkers or an imbalance in the complex frequencies of the body. These biomarkers indicate issues with your body, like a deficiency in a vitamin, or some illness. I just had blood work done some weeks before, so I had a baseline for comparison. When I got the results of the voice print, they exactly matched the results of my blood work!
