Keep Your Vibes High

We've all heard the terms vibration and frequency, but what exactly do these concepts have to do with health and wellness and why is this important to you now?

Vibrations are the oscillating movement of atoms and particles. All things in our universe are constantly in motion or vibrating. Even objects that appear to be solid are in fact vibrating at various frequencies. You have a frequency that is higher than most diseases, viruses and pathogens - you have the power to control your own vibrational energy to support your health and wellbeing!

Everything in our existence is part of an interconnected matrix of electromagnetic vibrational frequencies. All things living and non-living have an energy field that has its own vibrational frequency, which is measured in a unit of hertz. For instance, something that has a measure of one hz it means it vibrates one time per second. Middle C on the piano is 261.6 Hz that means it vibrates 261.6 times per second. So YOU have a frequency as well! Yes, our bodies have an average frequency of between 62-72 hz. In 1992, Bruce Tainio, head of the Department of Agriculture at Washington University, developed a Calibrated Frequency Monitor that originally was developed to study the frequency of food, but also has been used to measure the frequencies of the human body.

John Hopkins University also used this device to study frequency in relationship to diseases. They determined that disease starts when the frequency drops to 58 Hz or below. When the frequency drops because of physiological, emotional or environmental factors, the immune system becomes weak, so the lower frequency creates a more attractive environment for pathogens. Remember, EVERYTHING has a vibration. So everything you come into contact with, eat, put on your body, listen to, think, etc….each of these things have their own frequency that affects your energy field.

So I’d like to share with you what I've been doing to keep my vibes high.

  • I take my morning coffee outside to stand in the wet grass with bare feet. This is called grounding or earthing, and is a therapeutic technique that electrically reconnects you to the earth. Emerging scientific research has revealed that direct physical contact with the surface of the Earth supplies us our bodies with a flow of electrons. These free electrons from the Earth’s surface spread over and into the body, where they can have antioxidant effects. Why bare feet? Because most shoes are made of plastic or rubber which are not good conductors of electricity. The National Center for Biotechnology Information says “The research suggests that this disconnect may be a major contributor to physiological dysfunction and unwellness. Reconnection with the Earth's electrons has been found to promote intriguing physiological changes and subjective reports of well-being."

  • When I’m grounding, or in the shower, I thump my chest lightly right on the sternum. Thumping or tapping your thymus gland stimulates your immune system, giving it a boost. The word thymus comes from the Greek word "thymos" which means "life energy." When life is out of sorts and daily stress rises, like it has been for several years, our thymus gland can become depleted of this vital life energy. T-lymphocytes also known as “killer cells” are produced in our thymus through puberty. Thumping the thymus can help keep your own life energy pumping and vibrating at a high frequency. It can also help to release fear or anxiety.

  • Singing in the shower is great, but have you ever just made organic sounds? You know, the ones we make all the time. Like when you see a cute puppy on social media you go AWWW, or stub your toe, you yell OWWW (or something else!) It doesn’t have to be pretty or even very loud Try just a low VOO sound - that’s all you need to do to get the benefits. Vocal toning or sounding is one of the most effective, easiest and natural forms of sound therapy. The powerful internal vibrations generated by your voice stimulate your body's natural healing processes and activate the vagus nerve. This is important because the vagus nerve not only innervates some of your major organs, but stimulates the parasympathetic response, which tells your body it’s safe. Your voice is the most effective carrier of frequency to your body, assisting your body in releasing pent-up tension, stress and pain. Your brain and body are hard-wired to resonate with your voice. The vibrations of your own voice can elicit not only a physiological response but a profound and deep emotional one as well.

Of course there are many other ways to enhance your vibration, like deep breathing, meditation and exercise. Whatever you decide to do, see if you can incorporate them into a daily routine. Our bodies respond best with a consistent practice, and an attitude of fun!
