Join Me for a 2-Minute Mindfulness Break: Follow Along to Transform Your Day!

I needed a little reminder today to check in with myself, so thought you might too! I love sharing these very simple tips that are so easy and accessible, and can make such a difference in your day! See my YouTube video here.

One of the things I've been trying to get into the habit of doing is checking in with myself throughout the day- even just taking two or three minutes to close my eyes, breathe deeply, and scan my body from head to toe can make a difference in how I feel.

One of the things that has helped me tremendously is just taking a couple minutes to give my body some attention. Here’s a version of my practice if you’d like to follow along:

  • Close your eyes, maybe putting my hands on your chest or even on the sacral chakra area (lower belly below your belly button) and just notice the quality of your breathing.

  • Take a nice deep breath with me now, and then let it out on a long sighing sound on an AHHHHHHHHHH. - Notice how you feel! The sigh is a beautiful and simple way of releasing any tension, stress or anxiety.

  • Take another gentle, deep breath, scan your body from the top of your head to your toes, and then listen - just listen and notice any sensations. Use your inner knowingness and your body's intelligence to tell you where it needs your attention.

  • You may be called to areas like your back, hips, shoulders, or head. Have the intention of sending your attention into those areas with your breath and your voice - just allow yourself to make any sounds that occur to you without judgment.

  • Anything that occurs to you can be helpful—shaking up and down, for example. Shaking is a great way of releasing and reorganizing. Sound can reorganize your body/mind, especially combined with movement. If you want to be silly and make some silly sounds while bouncing up and down, go for it!

I've also been suffering a bit from depression due to limited movement and activities and the fear of injuring my back again. So I'm trying to lighten my vibration by making sounds and moving in ways that are nourishing for my body/mind.

I hope you give some of these practices a try - if you do, let me know if they make a difference in how you feel. These activities can help you navigate your day with clarity, centeredness, grace, and awareness - lifting your spirits along the way. By using your voice and body, you can stay present and grounded throughout your day.

Take a couple of minutes out of your day, each day - to focus on yourself - the most important person in the world!
